Why are we doing this?
Emerging economies continue to be overlooked.
In the latest United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals Report (2025 edition), it is stated that “ ...only 35 per cent of SDG targets are on track or making moderate progress. Nearly half are moving too slowly and, alarmingly, 18 per cent are in reverse.”
And yet, the sports economy keeps growing. But with one caveat.
The World Economic Forum (Sports for People and Planet) projects that the $2.3 trillion global sports economy is expected to grow by four drivers, with Emerging Economies playing a significant role as one of the drivers. They state Africa, Asia, and Latin America as places that are “increasingly creating jobs, promoting health and stimulating infrastructure development.”
And that is where we want to help - at the grassroots level.
By getting out into the communities and reviving sporting infrastructure for everyday use, SportSpace is determined to contribute to #10 (Reducing Inequalities) and #11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) of the UN SDG goals.
Let’s do this. Together.
